In a previous tutorial I showed you how to use Unihiker (and other Linux-capable devices) with DFPlayer Pro and a cell phone. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of assembling a portable stereo speaker. To follow this tutorial, you need a 3D printer, and you need to solder cables to speakers. I won't go into detail about printing and soldering!
The speaker enclosure was designed using Fusion360 and 3D-printed using PLA filament on a Creality 3D printer.
- Extruder Temperature: 195/200 degrees Celsius
- Bed Temperature: 55/60 degrees Celsius
Note: The following ZIP file includes all required *.stl files:
Install the USB-C Adapter
1. Locate the USB-C adapter and the right part of the speaker enclosure.
2. Insert the USB-C adapter into the designated hole in the right part.
3. Ensure the adapter is securely fitted and oriented correctly.
Attach the Chassis to the Right Part
1. Align the chassis with the right part of the enclosure.
2. Connect the chassis to the right part using screws or the designated snap-fit mechanism.
Mount the Speaker to the Front Part
1. Take the stereo speaker unit and align it with the mounting holes on the front part.

3. Repeat this process for the second speaker.
Assemble the Front Part to the Chassis and Right Part
1. With the speaker cables routed to the left side of the front part, align the front part with the chassis and right part.
2. Securely attach the front part, ensuring all cables are accessible and not pinched.
Connect the Speaker Cables to DFPlayer Pro
Identify the speaker cable terminals on the DFPlayer Pro module.
Connect the speaker cables as follows:
1. Left speaker: L+ and L-
2. Right speaker: R+ and R-
Double-check the connections to ensure proper polarity.
Connect USB-C Adapter to DFPlayer Pro
1. Connect the USB-C adapter to the DFPlayer Pro module.
Attach the Left Part
1. Align the left part of the enclosure with the chassis and front part.
2. Securely attach the left part to complete the speaker enclosure assembly.
Once assembled, connect the speaker to the UNIHIKER via USB.
1. Pair the Unihiker with an iPhone (or other Bluetooth-compatible device).
2. Play your favorite music and enjoy your custom portable stereo speaker!
Note: You can also connect and use the speakers for example with macOS, Linux, cell phones or tablets!
