Coral Reef Guardians| BOSON SCIENCE PROJECT

Project Description:

This project is a scientific education device that simulates the phenomenon of coral bleaching, aimed at helping students understand the impact of global warming on marine ecosystems. The system consists of a micro:bit controller, a waterproof temperature sensor, an ambient light sensor, and an RGB LED strip, with simple programming enabling interactive effects between temperature and lighting changes.

When the water temperature exceeds 29°C the RGB LED strip gradually transitions from red to white, vividly demonstrating the process of coral bleaching. As the water temperature returns to normal, the LED strip shifts back to red, simulating the recovery of coral. An OLED display provides real-time readings of the current water temperature and light intensity, allowing students to clearly observe the relationship between temperature changes and coral health.

This interactive demonstration device transforms the abstract topic of climate change into a tangible scientific experiment. It not only enhances students programming skills but also raises their environmental awareness and inspires interest in learning.
