Introduction
This project is based on the HUSKYLENS 2 camera, combined with a night vision lens to enhance imaging in low-light environments. It has successfully achieved accurate and stable recognition of wild animals even in complete darkness.

To follow this tutorial, here’s the hardware you’ll need to get ready:

1. The night vision camera module will be available in the DFRobot online store. Stay tuned!
2. Please purchase the LED IR illuminator module separately.
This project uses a HUSKYLENS 2 camera equipped with a night vision lens. With the help of infrared fill lights, it provides stable and reliable recognition results for wild animals in complete darkness. (The lens can be replaced by removing the screws on the left and right sides of the lens.) Diagram is shown below:
Check HUSKYLENS 2 firmware version: System Settings → Device Information.

If the firmware version is too old, update it to System Version 1.2.1 and above in time. For firmware updates, check out this guide:

How it works
Step 1: Install the wildlife recognition model
Make Connections:

Install the model from the attachment into the HuskyLens.

Step 2: Hardware Connection

Step 3: Program
Open Mind+ and load the project file “Wild animal.mpcode” in Upload Mode.


Upload this project to your UNIHIKER K10.

Step 4: Assemble your night observation scene
1. Install the night vision lens.
2. Build and assemble the night observation scene.
