We wanted to create a retina scanner to out into an escape room, without the hassle of needin to record players biometrics and avoid all the hassle and dealing with privacy.
When we were offered the kit to test out I immediately knew we were going to make the retina scanner for our new game called the Mystery Collective.
The Chip has been instrumental in achieving the goal as it allowed us to set the field very narrowly to only detect the person in front of the retina scanner.
I noticed while setting up the DFRobot C4002 mmWave sensor that the library didn't recognize an Arduino Nano (only Uno and ESP devices). Since Arduino IDE seems to cache library files I had to pull them into the sketch's folder and edit them there (otherwise my changes wouldn't take), and change the reference from #include
to
#include "DFRobot_C4002.h
due to this, then alter the two library files in the sketch folder:
DFRobot_C4002.cpp
DFRobot_C4002.h
The only changes are changing:
#if defined(ESP8266) || defined(ARDUINO_AVR_UNO)
to
#if defined(ESP8266) || defined(ARDUINO_AVR_UNO) || defined(ARDUINO_AVR_NANO)
Of which there were 3 places that the change was required in DFRobot_C4002.h
Without this change, the code wouldn't compile on a Nano because the library was defaulting to HardwareSerial instead of SoftwareSerial.

I noticed the DFRobot_C4002 library was version 1.0.0 so I assume this is new and figured I'd provide my experience and fixes.
Overall very impressed with the device’s capabilities, it is more accurate and reliable than I expected!
